Devils advocate here, she did steal her company's deeds and steal and destroy a lot of stuff. Even if it was for a good cause she was really reckless. Still, I wish there was a more conclusive ending even if it was just going to court and getting a lifetime sentence.
Ah! I've only found out about this yesterday. I too played this when I was still a student, and it was one of the three games I've ever played in my life. Having a full time job now, it would be impossible to complete this (at least not without cheats) so thank you!
I liked the game, even with its problems, mostly for its atmosphere because I think it managed to preserve it. I think it's the sort of game that people who don't like games like. I would also love to see this as a sequence of movies.
Thank you for the really funny walkthrough. There were times I wanted to shout out… Ladder! Yurt! Knife! No! Other knife! Other knife!
If Syberia I and II were released closer together, then maybe Syberia 4 can actually happen?
That ending was terrible! i loved these games so much and yet… sigh, guess we'll have to see whether there's gonna be a fourth game at all. Still thank you so so much for playing the game, definitely enjoyed the experience
According to Google Translate, the poster says "Hierarchy Knows." So we have a pretty good idea of the guard's dilemma.
Really?! That is the end to siberia 3!!! I dont like the end. But i want to make siberia 4 . Because i dont no what is happening with Kate Walker
This really hit me hard, personally. I grew up with the Syberia series. I studied them and wanted to know everything there was about the story, until there was nothing left to learn.
This game? …I really was depressed by the way it was portrayed. The first half was decent, but midway through, it started getting a little choppy. Not to mention all the glitches and bugs! And dont get me started on that ending.
As someone who grew up admiring Kate Walker, to see her being taken by the helicopter was a devastating blow for me… I hope there's something in the future that can redeem this game.
Yeah uh, that's a pretty ambitious (or lazy) ending considering how this one barely got made, and a decade after the last, to boot. If they actually have a proper conclusion planned then they shouldn't have marketed this as a full game. Odds are there won't be another one and Katewalker will spend the rest of her days in Effingmova's shock therapy torture machine. Weeeeee. Oh well, I enjoyed watching it.
Well, I just played the DLC to this game: "An Automaton With A Plan", thinking that just maybe it might compensate for a horrid ending like this. If you haven't played that DLC, don't waste your time or money! It makes the bad ending even worse! A half hour (playing time of the DLC) spent telling and "playing out" a scenario that never happened! I'm not going to ruin it for those who want to play the DLC, but I will say that you spend this small bit of game time playing Oscar in a scenario that never happened in the game and changes nothing about the terrible ending!
Worse ending of ANY game I've played! I came to your video to see if maybe I screwed up and was suppose to reload the last save and play the end differently, but evidently (watching you), the game is just cursed with a horrid ending! I understand the "cliff hanger" mentality behind ending 'movies' this way, but that is done in movies- not games! Perhaps the designers will learn from the collective disregard all the players have with them concerning all these issues… I don't know. BTW… They did fix a few issues (as per my game compared to yours), but the main issue with me is this terrible ending- they can't fix that! However, they released a DLC for this game: "An Automaton With A Plan", possibly to repair the damage done by this ending…? I haven't played it and truthfully, I may never play it now. I appreciate your diligence and wit through the playing of this game. It is the first I have watched of your videos, but will not be my last. Thank you.
Hey for everybody who's disappointed of the game or the ending or both like me here are two funny one-liners that will make your day: 1)With all those movement issues she's not doing her name justice. 2) (That's kind of a tricky one) Try saying: Oleelandza three times in a row and slowly realize that you are just saying "Holy lands" in a messed up African accent!
("Not a lot of effort in inventing a name for a sacred stead, not in my book anyway…" is all I'm sayin')
๐
laughed so hard @ Mr. Depth Perception
I tried the scarf first than the brick… XD
I loved the game ๐ It was amazing to re-live the magic of Sokal's world and follow Kate in her journey. I am curious for the 4th part, which I hope will come in 1-2 years. I played the game after the point-and-click patch and it was really fun to play. It is so interesting that Kate did so many new crazy things in the 3rd part. The story is amazing.
that as a horrifically awful ending
they thought they'd make a sequel to this, so they have created an open ending. well, i very much doubt this lame ass, boring, irritating, stupid, broken glitchy piece of crap will get a sequel. it's about time microids closed up shop after this insult to adventure gamers and sokal returned to his comics.
I agree i hate the ending. I hope if they make another that it will be better.
The ending was so ridiculous that I really didn't believe… The two first games was so brilliant! I guess I expected too much for this one…
the ending its just for part 4 ๐
I dont think we would ever see the next game…. I played Syberia I when I was a teenager, I'm in my 30s now with part 3… I dont think i'd be interested in playing a game babysitting my grandchildren when I'm in my 40-50s…. seriously
Although the game was pretty bad, I watched your whole walkthrough, because you managed to make it really entertaining and fun. I've had a really great time watching and I love the facecam highlights at the end of your vidos! Thanks a lot for your effort! ๐
Is it confirmed that Hans died or will he return?
Horrible ending for an terrible game. Why they did such a mess with a beautiful tale like this? Buggy controls, buggy game, horrible graphic engine, poor sound and musics, 3d poor textures instead of the beautiful Sokal drawings…playing this on my PC was a torture arrgh. They sould have left the first two games with its beautiful story as they was…..wthout making this awful obscene videogame.
Fuck those stupid, fat, lazy ass, fuck faces!
you're welcome…have a nice trip. uhhhh!!!!
good LP though!! thanks
A point-and-click mode is being implemented after all the backlash.
The story was an INSULT to the amazing locals, characters and overall charm that was the first and second game. The fact that many people feel that 2 should have been the last game says it all. It saddens me greatly. However, a proper sequel to this game could still redeem it.
Except all those flaws of the game mentioned above: have you guys noticed that all those Russian signs are so poorly done, look so out of place? When I was playing a doubled version I thought signs were doubled also and was very surprised when saw them in a gameplay. For me it kinda killed the atmosphere, cause all those places in game have NOTHING in common with Russian reality (sorry to disappoint if you thought that Russia looks like that fancy "syberian" town, haha), but if signs would be in English I would just take it as an imaginary country. With all those Cyrillic letters all over the place I cannot get rid of that feeling of fake. Also, sometimes inscriptions themselves are odd, like that "hierarchy knows" on the Soviet poster (the poster itself is real btw, it originally says "Have you signed up as a volunteer?"). I wonder if they had absolutely no Russian around to ask if it sounds alright >_<
I actually couldn't play Syberia 3 anymore โ man, these controls (and the camera angles) made the game impossible to play. So I decided to watch your videos and see how it ends. The ending was meh. As a huge fan of Syberia 1 and 2, this time I am not even interested to see where this storyline goes in Syberia 4. It was just annoying.
Hated the ending, and they should have stuck with point and click, which would have made navigation, and probably the inventory, much easier. I can't imagine why they changed. That said, I enjoyed watching it. It was Syberia, especially with Oscar, although they waited quite awhile to resurrect him. I'm glad I watched your playthrough instead of spending the $$ for a game that I probably wouldn't be able to navigate. I'm just not a controller type of person.
Damn, just what I feared the most through the whole game: that the ending would be nothing but just a set up for the next game – exactly like in Dreamfall: The longest journey. It's a shame. The other two syberia games had a very satisfying endings, but this just left you empty-hearted. I wish the ending of Syberia and Kate's story would be here (despite syberia 2 ending was perfect and without any need for a sequel, as the point of the story is following your dreams). Now it just has more of this action-survival tone, like Lara Croft, chased by the bad guys all the time. Overall it was a great adventure game, but the ending is fucked up – it could be a fantastic trilogy.
Yeah, that's why I never liked Syberia III to be honest ๐
I may sound harsh, but I think it's an embarrassment of a game that doesn't tie in any knots addressed in the previous games while also delivering a barely finished product after quite a long time of development.
But enjoyed watching your gameplay ๐๐ป
Ahh I don't like the ending !!!!! ๐
why Oscar needs to be that heroic? I am so mad that Oscar must die in every Syberia game …Oscar x Kate Forever
I enjoyed watching you play it, if they do another one in four years or so i hope you are still doing videos
When I saw that this was the last episode, I had a feeling that it would be a "To be continued" kind of ending, but I was expecting more of like what they did with the first game, where it ended with Kate thinking this wasn't the end of her journey, not yet.
This one, it just left a lot of unanswered questions (like what happened to that detective) and had the lowest note ever.
great game but souldnt ended like that
Nice walk through. Thanks.
The trailer led me to believe that she somehow got across the bridge and blew it up behind her.
Enjoyed the video. Hate the game. The first Syberia was the best. that's the only one I played, anyway.
Horrible ending! A huge let down for me. thank you for the walk though anyway.
Oh please calm me down, i'm almost dead! ๐ ….fuck it's the last episode! ๐
Well that was a very buggy game, the double knife was pretty funny and how you had Oscar's heart the whole time despite it being in his chest. Still rather enjoyable, your hate for the shaman was amusing. I kinda figured Kate would end up arrested at some point, but as other commenters point out, why is she important to them? Is there just a bounty on her from the states? Absolutely sequel bait for the ending too, but like, maybe they should finish this game first.
Such an unsatisfying ending! Lots of bugs in gameplay and audio issues. I kinda liked the story, it's Syberia after all, I liked the deeper feel of Russia than it was in the second part but I think that's all. Kate still have got Oscar's heart so that means she can Make Oscar Great Again! But it would be very much cliche. Still all the props to you for playing it, you've done great job as always. I think playing next part will do although I think it's premiere will be after B. Sokal's death. Looking forward to your next projects, and I hope you will play Still Life I by Microids one day ๐
Disappointing. I hate sequel bait endings when there's no real promise of a sequel. I can't lie, I do prefer the point-and-click mechanics of the first two games. I also preferred the older graphics of the first two. I understand wanting to get with the times and make it a more cinematic experience but that's not what Syberia was loved for. Syberia was more like an interactive painting than an interactive movie. This was nice, but it was also disappointing.
gave it a thumbs up for your valiant effort in finishing what seemed a bit of a trial. I found this a bit wearisome at times and the ending was terrible as you said. Syberia 4 ? If it's as long a time as this took to produce you will have long retired. First two games were excellent and they should have left it there
The ending was fucked up, indeed.
It might have been a bit too brutal ending for the game, but I was kind of wondering what would've happened if Kate didn't just let them take her. I mean, jumping from the helicopter when they weren't too high could've been an option?
It's a shame that they put Olga's squad in the game at all, really. We didn't really get to know WHY Kate was so important to them. I mean, they were different from the "best in the world" detective, right?
Anyway, I really liked the original series and I was glad that it got revisited again. The music and scenery were beautiful, just as expected, but the ending is just not right. And yeah the bugs & stuff, but even if we ignore them, this was too much of a sequel-bait. And if there IS a sequel, are we just going to leave the youkols entirely there on their own? They're going to die without Kate's help, we all know it.
Devils advocate here, she did steal her company's deeds and steal and destroy a lot of stuff. Even if it was for a good cause she was really reckless. Still, I wish there was a more conclusive ending even if it was just going to court and getting a lifetime sentence.
