Doom is not horor because the horor is doom guy it self
episode 4 rocks!
PS1 doom was my favourite doom for sure. You felt like you were really up against hell whilst playing it, rather than being a fearless badass like the original pc version.
Boy? BOY!! doomguy is a MAN!
Correction: nobody is going to miss Archviles.
We need a mod to put the 3do soundtrack into the pc version
PS1 Doom tried too hard to be N64 Doom, which is the second best of the "2D" Doom game.
Some of the sound effects for the monsters and guns sounds like from DooM 64.
Helloooo. Mod link? .-.
"Any Doom is good Doom"
So you admit you enjoyed HDoom.
"You all probably miss seeing the appearance of the Arch-Vile in DOOM II." HA HA HA, no we fucking don't.
"Any source port"? What, Legacy? 3DGE? Eternity? Boom? Chocolate? MBF? SMMU? …or do you mean any recent Zdoom-based source port?
Sucks I miss out playing this when I use to known someone with this game.
7:51 talkin' out your arse with the jaguar, that port was superb gameplay wise, even with the music missing.
PS doom had no music. fuckin trash. lazy trash.
PC Doom with PSx sounds is what I'm looking for
stop talking shit on controllers.
glad i'm not the only one who played it so much as a lil kid that it would invade my nightmares. i think both the psx/64 and the pc soundtracks both sum up Doom to me. the pc being the cool running through levels at break neck speed taking on demons like a badass and the console port music captures that feeling of being the only one left alive and death around each corner and having to move slowly
I grew up with playstation instead of pc. pc is nicer with sourceports but psx sounds more powerful with sounds and more creepy with tone and music. Its shredding riffs or a horror epic. I hate typing with a touchscreen keyboard.
Never liked the PSX version. They fucked up by only really changing the sounds and a few minor things. Also, Doom was never really a scary game nor a horror game, even as a kid I never got scared. It was more of an action game which is why I love Doom 2016. It stayed true to the original.
Doom 64 got it right by changing the textures as well as the PSX sounds being used to help really shift the atmosphere to one of horror. The demons also fit better with the sounds as did the weapons. The levels too.
If I remember correctly, there was a bug in the Playstation port where the Cyberdemon could kill itself by its own rockets. Its possible to do it on the Tower of Babel level, by getting behind one of the Pillars at the corner and standing far, yet inbetween the pillar and the corner of the central room. Get the Cyberdemon on the other side, and wait for it to blow itself up slowly as it fires at you and the rockets hit the wall.
This port of doom is what made doom my fave game of all time. Played this all the time as a child
That baby crying in the ps1 port on a soundtrack scared me as a kid.
It's the first doom I ever played. I thought this was the first ever doom when I was a kid… I was wrong and blissfully ignorant and I like the PC version more but ps1 doom is what introduced me into what doom was
The doom 64/psx sound effects especially the music by hodges is simply the best.
The second song is my favorite.
One of my All Time favorites. Countless hours of my life wasted on this lol !!
I’ve been continuously binging your videos . Every. Single. Video.
The rock music made it more fun doom was never really that much a horror game if it was you may as well put halo on the same topic the fun of doom was just being a bad ass
Man is that soundtrack weird or what? Like im accidentally playing quake
Wait, Wait the Jaguar port of Doom was no damn Trainwreck, it was as close to the PC as your going to get, the 3DO and 32x ports were awful and the SNES port was unplayable but the Jaguar port was good though I never understood why they forgot to put music in the game though.
shockingly epic soundtrack for the ps2 version.
Everyone can agree: Doom on PC is legendary.
i got a brillient idea MOD THE PSX VER TO HAVE THE SOUNDTRACK FROM THE PC
3:46 i have earphones on and this track gave me the chills, i never noticed this music had so much atmospheric bass! I must replay this game now with headphones on googles how to connect headphones on ps3
I love this version of Doom. If you die on level all you need to do is go the password screen and just hit x as the password is already there. Also I think the playstation 1 would've been more than capable have handling the exact same graphic textures as the pc, because if you play Alien Ressurection, Disruptor and of course Quauke II, you can see that these games blow away Doom's graphics.
I found this game when I played it when I was 5, better than the original final doom I have play recently. I have never beaten final Doom on my PC and I don't plan to.
All I know is the PS1 version didn't have the silly 8 bit music and goofy sounding monsters. It was 100 times more scary because the music was creepy, some levels were way darker and the monsters sounded terrifying. Playing the ps1 version with my dad when I was 3 really takes me back, and I still remember the sheer horror them damn pinky demons instilled with their signature howl and bellows.
I love your brutal honesty in any reviews you do!
I loved the PS1 version of Doom, but preferred the PC soundtrack. Doom isn't a horror game, so why give it a horror soundtrack?
Don't laugh, the PSX version is the second I've tried. The first one is on Saturn. And i've finished Quake 3 Arena on Dreamcast. I cried blood…
