This is part 2 of my Hexyz Force Review! Be sure to check out part 1 at some point too, eh? Welcome back to The Game Collection! Last time I talked about Hexyz Force, an RPG on the PSP that…

Radiata Story would be a nice experience. More so if you like games from TriAce.
I've just beaten Cecilia's story and i found it quite superficial and cliche…and quite stupid at times. I didn't really enjoy it. The moments where it tried to give some political insight felt really clumsy. I also didn't like the characters in Cecelia's party, as they were underdeveloped. Would you say Levant's story is so much better and more mature (and more political) that i should give it still a chance or should i move on to the next game in my huge backlog?
0:25 That's a cool N64 controller there, the red at the bottom right on the shelf. Maybe do a quick show of it?
Great review, man! Hmm… given the sheer amount of RPGs I can play on PSP, let alone elsewhere. I'll give it a pass. Hey, will you review SMT Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2? I find the conversation around it lacking.
Somewhat of a late comment……..but I picked this up for $40 complete off Amazon.
I don't know….It sounds like a pretty standard RPG plot.
Great Review. I played through half of Cecilia's tale back in 2010 but then it wasn't until 2012 that I picked this game up again from my shelf and played through Levant's tale. I'm glad that I played through his. This is a long game and most long games I tend to quit half way through, but this one kept me going. A part of me wants a sequel to this game but I also feel that it doesn't need one.
Amazing quality on your vids, subbed.
Interested in a review of Chrono Trigger, Bahamut Lagoon or Vagrant Story. Both lengthy games, though! Looking forward to whatever you're reviewing next!
Hey, SuperDerek, if you want an other game that is pretty much a 2-in-1 package (as in 2 whole stories in one game), play Front Mission 3 on PS1. It has a much more serious military-mech based setting, but each story is 40+ hours, and it's quite a fun TRPG, even if a little luck-based, in its system…
This game has been sitting in my backlog for a long time. I think I will bump this game up as the game I'll play next.
Derek, as a fan of PSP RPGs, what is your opinion of the Legend of Heroes trilogy? To me, it seemed very promising, but fatally hampered by a terrible translation.
Hexyz Force part 2, huzzah! 🙂 And look at those spiffy glasses, looking all intellectual. 😉 Haha. Levant sounds like an interesting character. Racial issues can make for an interesting story when done right. I'm very happy to hear how you felt about the stories being even more connected than you thought. I love that idea. And the different endings and the way they are decided sounds really cool. 🙂 I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I can come across this for a cheap price. 😛 Gotta have that physical copy (when I can). Great review, Derek!
Hey super derek awesome review as usual. Just wondering. When can we expect Persona 4 Golden.
I just realized; have you reviewed any of the Mario and Luigi RPGs?
Maybe you can review them sometime in the future.
Love your channel, but it's like been 4 months of angst-ridden, boring Atlus games with P1 last year as well). Â I know that Persona is popular, but in a world of hundreds (maybe more) of great RPGs, Atlus only represents a small handful.
Not hating. Â Just not digging all of the continuous Atlus stuff. Â I feel that they are overrated in a sea of great games and like 4 of the last few reviews have been Atlus.
Atlus publishes grindy and dull snoozefests for angsty pre-teens! Â Well, except for Catherine, which was their most brilliant release in recent history. Â If you review overrated dreck next, like Radiant Historia or Conception 2, I'll simply cry. Â It's like you were corrupted by Granstream Saga, my friend. Â Now you don't like good RPGS because Jimmy made you play GS! Â Now you only want to play Atlus games!
Sting + Atlus is even worse, because Sting makes some of the worst RPG games in the history of humanity.
Awesome man. Sounds similar to Golden Sun Duology with the swapping of the characters and such. I wont spoil how exactly but its definitely a game you should play 🙂 🙂 🙂
Another great review my man. Â Are both stories about the same in length? Â I can imagine Levant's might have taken less since you powered up your weapons some with the left over points.
Nice to see this come to a close. It's bizarre how the two different stories had enough to fill a video each. Will definitely pick this up at some point and add it to MY GAME COLLECTION.
Awesome review man! I love my RPGs but they are underrepresented in my PSP collection.
Fantastic review as always! Keep up the good work Derek 🙂
Love this game
pretty penny… 70-100+
And thus his review was complete, giving a good and fair video to his viewers, Super Derek returned to his solitude searching for the next "game that plays roles". What will it be next time?
