Mind blown
I would reply, but I'm too busy picking up the exploded remains of what used to be my brain.
Just makes me want to do a Fincher binge.
Zodiac is a masterpiece
Great video
After this and the Dylan videos on "All Along the Watchtower" (which I have always considered to be more of a painting than a song) and "Tangled Up in Blue" I can safely tell you that you have a lifelong subscriber. You never come off pretentious or haughty and are always informative. I can't wait to see more.
God I love your insights. This is your first video that I watched, but I immediately clicked the Subscribe button, and the nerd in me couldn't be happier.
Amazing analysis
Brilliant piece. Thank you for sharing.
This is why I love Fincher's direction!
i love fincher soooo much.
Great vid. 1 point though: your glass doesn't have any innate behaviour! π
Have other director's used the same technique or is it only unique to david?
Damn, you're so right. Also, Fincher is a genius in many other aspects, for example how he creates characters. Everything he touches is captivating. Still so underrated…
Glad I found this channel π
Wow, never noticed that!
A thought, that came to my mind during this (very good) video is: Fincher's work is more like perfect trade on many levels but lacks art, when these perfect camera-movements are all used for the same purpuse. You can do more with a camera than that. Other opinions?
Love this one! Awesome video!
what were the songs used in this video? i think heard some social network and zodiac, but i really want to know which tracks specifically
Wow. The mother of all Easter eggs! Well done!
This was awesome!!!!!!
Remember when Nerdfighter videos were actually informative and insightful? I don't.
That was too much when you said I too felt horrified when I opened a fridge. πππ
You gotta make a Paul Thomas Anderson video. I want you to deep dive into his work.
Thanks very much for this! Well done!
So that's what that is!! Some movies just have that Thing I can never actually describe or name. I love this effect, it feels more realistic, in my opinion.
This video is awesome! This is so insightful.
While I agree with much of your insight in the video, & it's a great analysis, it should be pointed out that your assumptions of "timed rehearsals" etc. isn't quite true. The reality is that most of that timed camera movement is done in post. This is revealed extensively in the behind the scenes extras of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Fincher & cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth go into great detail showing the post-production "tricks" that are done to accomplish what looks like exactly what you describe.
sorry i dont feel it
I think i stumbled on your best video first, amazing stuff!
This video makes me sick the levels of retardation
I watched it 10 times already
God bless you!
I got chills all over me after watching this
WOW. This video was SO good. I've been watching your videos for awhile but this has got to be one of your best. This is truly such an interesting and insightful case study into what plays into great directing , thank you.
Great insightful video. Intense just like Fincher's films.
As a filmmaker, I take so much inspiration from this channel. Thank you.

"Unconscious Connection", well said. I have felt that many times when watching Mindhunter, I tend to find myself too focused with the characters movement. Legendary.
