Why does the main character remind of corvo atono
Finally! Someone who choose the occultist. I really want to see how that influences the game.
If this is supposed to be set in an actual time (as in not a fake alternate timeline, where underwear as evening wear is fine) then the duchess whats-her-face is waaaaay too naked for her station/location/time either that or she is a very high end prostitute (or rather, a prostitute who has a lot of money) who doesn't care that everyone knows that she is a lady of the night. I'm sooo not buying her look, especially combined with the clothes of the guys. Have they given a specific time where this takes place?
I cannot stand the protagonist's voice. Sorry Keith, I'll thumbs up this video, but I won't be watching any more of The Council.
You'd like the book, And Then There Were None by Agitha Christie
He looks like the joker without makeup.
When do you think you might get to "The Room: Old Sins"?
if the voices matched them any better id continue watching, but after listening to the main character sound like he was in a bathroom recording (there is a strange echo on it, might be cause I'm wearing headphones) it got to be too much. also the mothers voice is ALL wrong does not sound her age at alllll
It the frame rate lock it at 30
Looks good, might pick it up – though I'm concerned if it's a segmented tale, with multiple games planned. (a lot of devs are doing that nowadays, and I honestly dislike that lack of closure, on the basis of "*someday* we might release the next game")
Huh, did you tell the duchess your name before you had that first vision?
I really wish the protagonist had a better voice actor, but what is done is done. Also, I call absolute bullshit on the Duchess wearing that dress in 1793.
I think it's definitely intentional to have all the characters look really obscure and frightening – sets the tone of the game very well. The animations and Voice Acting does need a lot of getting used to; unfortunately not one of the highlights of the game….but once I got over them….it never really impacted my enjoyment of the game overall. It does start off very overwhelming with quite too many game mechanics to learn about, which was very distracting to the flow of the story for me – resulting in me making a ton of mistakes….making me cheat by restarting the game or redoing chapters….but once I got used to them it started getting better and I could start focusing more on the story.
I do love those bottled murder mysteries too – and this is very reminiscent of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" – very character driven, each with their own sense of mystery. Hopefully it's not exactly the same as the book [Spoilers for anyone who's never read or watched the story and is intending to] where they all end up dying or only one person remains! If that does happen, this might potentially become my fave game ever!! >_< It also gives me a Sherlock Holmes vibe….not as great in terms of dialogue and character…..but I do like that jovial dynamic that he shares with Mother in that prologue (notice how the BGM changes when they start talking over the dead/unconscious body….very humorous and fun yet extremely creepy at the same time…xD). I like that contrast of light and heavy with what could be a dark undertone of a murder mystery!
Can't wait to see how you tackle this game, and how different your playthrough will be compared to mine. I chose the "Diplomat" and am already noticing some changes. I also acted on my own in the beginning cut scene….I did not trust in Mother….which got the man killed and gave me a permanent scar on my face! LOL The differences already is remarkably ambitious. Let's hope they manage to keep it up throughout the series.
Yup, definitely super into this. Still sad hand of fate is over, but you seem to be happy with this so it's a good tradeoff
This art-style reminds Me of dishonored
yeah…louis sounds like guybrush trhreepwood to me…which is no bad thing
This looks super interesting
It looks super promisng :). I really like how leveling skills work. You gain levels based on your action so even if you are not certain how your gameplan translates into game-terms, it helps you figure out what you are naturally drifting towards. On the other hand you gain points that you can assign on your own, so if you want particular skill you aren forced to picking particular options untill you level it up. 🙂
Much love <3
Al Azif, the book that Louis is looking for in the opening, is a fictional Arabic book from which the Necronomicon was translated. Both books are from Lovecraft’s stories.
Main character sounds unfortunately awful and kinda looks like a vampire. Otherwise this seems like a mighty intriguing title
That first skill you used on the Duchess cost 0 effort points, not 1. It said 1 then switched to 0 when you hovered over to indicate that it would usually cost 1 effort point, but then 3 were subtracted due to your skill level, dropping it to 0.
Subterfuge and Manipulation under Occultism are the best in the game. Observing things with Detective skills seem useless to figuring things out, like obvious things the game is already showing anyone with intelligence can see. Although some conversations need things like Psycology, Logic, or Diplomacy skills that a person may be vulnerable to instead of the funnest one, Manipulation. The same people as rat faced Dishonored game, haha.
That face is way too skinny. The guy must had had his cheeks removed or something.
