I gotta wonder if some guys at Bethesda played this game, there are some extremely similar aesthetics between rune and Skyrim. Btw I did play a bit of Rune when it came out but I mostly just remember killing some crabs and throwing some weapons at friends at a LAN.
slightly off topic but 2006's Prey is a masterpiece… unlike the "reboot" 2017 Prey! hate that game for ruining the name!
Human Head Studios is working on a new or a reboot of this game
I first read the game's name in that funky Nordic font as BUNZ, and now I can never unsee it.
Wow, definitely be looking up this one on Steam.
Let's just pray to the gods that the new Rune game in 2019 is promising. Tired of the unfinished games that developers and publishers put out just to make a quick buck because of the whole "EARLY ACCESS" excuse.
Could you do a review for 'Severance: Blade of Darkness'?
How do I get this game???
Need to play this one. I hate how over complicated modern games are. This looks simple, fun and most of all an ACTUAL game. Not a cgi movie with irritating menus and complex, useless rpg “elements “
Love your videos, keep it up!
Bore ragnarok. Heh.
That's an awesome shirt.
I FORGOT how infuriating that wind jump was until I watched this. That took hours of headaches (I didnt know about walkthroughs, and didn't have internet yet)
I remember playing this game on my emachine PC. It was slow to start but once you got going it was a lot of fun. Might have to check it out on steam. Thanks lazy for the nostalgia trip.
Coming back to watch this, I see some similarities between the new God of War and this game. Not saying it inspired GoW but I think it's interesting.
9:50 I found the wind jumping mechanic fairly easy and intuitive, if you listen there are clear audio cues when to jump, you just have to line the jump up properly.
Pc Master Race.
Oh, there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red, Who came riding to Whiterun from old Rorikstead
(pause)
And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade, As he told of bold battles and gold he had made.
(longer pause)
But then he went quiet, did Ragnar the Red, When he met the shield-maiden Matilda, who said;
(shorter pause)
"Oh, you talk and you lie and you drink all our mead, Now I think it's high time that you lie down and bleed!"
(pause)
And so then came clashing and slashing of steel, As the brave lass Matilda charged in, full of zeal.
(pause)
And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no more- When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor!
mmmmm Mead is the best. I only tried it recently and oh my lord it is so damn gooooooood, I could become an alcoholic!
11:57 Jesus that sounds like this should be a barbarian subclass for D&D
dear lgr thank you
I played this one several weeks after Blade of Darkness. Seemed bland in comparison.
Sometimes you sound like Duke Nukem….and it's awesome
999k subs. So Close! Subbed for the mil!
Love the mechcommander in the back 🙂 That game was my childhood
I still remember playing this game as a kid, on Russian localization, and I couldn't even understand anything, but the game was fun nevertheless.
seems like a pretty nice game and pretty neatly designed, sure beats Doom
Twisted level design is probably the thing I hate the most in old games… still, I love the old tomb raider series. Go figure
! Mech Commander !
new Rune is coming.
Is this at all related to "Rune-scape"?
Why yes, of course I enjoy eating lizards!
You are the only person ever beside me that I've seen that owns KKND
are those enemies i dont recognise from rune classic then?
The Witcher + Legacy of Kain = this game. How interesting.
Great review! Although the multiplayer side of things is pretty inactive, we have an active Discord, and we even had a big 2018 summer tournament that just finished. https://youtu.be/_iBbqnTM8Ig?t=1
The Angry Video game Nerd must review this game!
I remember this game. I was in high school. I was pretty excited about it coming out. Who doesn't love Vikings?
My fave game on PlayStation
Dude, the fight/attack mechanic in the PS 2 version is so addictive, I played the shizz out of back in the day. Solely for the reason that it was rewarding as heck to beat the crap out of dudes. Switching effortlessly between weapons . (and AF term watching the start I realised they are exactly the same game. (Ps2 and PC) sry my bad. I wonder if its on steam bcos I'd love to play it again. The real time combat is the best part!!!
seems a bit like dark souls, atmosphere driven action rpg, will give it a shot for retrogasm
