I think i have bigger dips on my ps4 pro than 28.fps. Some times u rly feel it slowing down
6 weeks since release and TFB still have not fixed frame pacing issue (which is really bad and ruins fluidity), have not add subtitles, have not fixed any bugs. This is one of the most awful game support I have ever seen.
So is it the bad frame pacing that's causing (what appears to be) dropped frames in game? I keep getting slight but frequent frame drops making it seem a bit jittery at times. This isn't bad jitter by any means but it is noticable when you're engaged in the game.
there is a patch included when you buy the game now digitally or if you grab the disc, all the content was given freely as part of the patch. So the part about the game incomplete, is now false.
Xbone x is a very underpowered and overhyped crapfest
13:35 "…the game does hold close to its 30fps target, just like the original game" Excuse me, what the fuck? The original games ran at 60fps. Just like the Crash Bandicoot series! That is my biggest problem with the remakes. They don't play as well as the original games expect on PC at 60fps. Maybe I can understand that with the Spyro games as they have big open worlds but it still baffles me that they couldn't do that with the crash games.
Please do your research. And don't even bother. I literally just tested all of the original ones just to make sure. They ran at 60.
Alright Insomniac, it's Ratchet and Clank's turn now, either that or Jak & Daxter NaughtyDog!
Has anything been said about a patch. Restarting Spyro 3's hover board races multiple times will cause the framerate to drop significantly until you reset the console.
I bought this and it's an amazing game to play after something like Red Dead.
Just a quick question but can you get the original voice acting in the game or is it just the new voice acting?
Will it ever be released on PC?
Same loading screen tested on PS4 Pro with Samsung EVO 850 Internal SSD had absolutely identical loading times…
It really sucks when developers cap loading times like this.
We need a patch to get rid of the very bad frame pacing.
Frame pacing is really destroying the otherwise fluid gameplay on my ps4pro.
Also it really could benefit from supersampling support.
Waiting for a PC and switch release, Then i'll maybe buy it twice. Save sharing between platforms would make that a definite.
11:52 I got your difference. Look at Spyro's horns
TFB is also known for something else that you guys won't mention here… because you guys are biased and haters.
Crash Nsane Trilogy can stay at 30 fps on PS4 Pro everytime. Spyro Reignited Trilogy struggles to keep 30 fps there. In conclusion: Vicarious Visions is better at optimizing.
I've never played a Spyro game, but I've always liked the character and concept, so this is nice to have!
I'm holding out for the eventual Switch/PC release.
This game isnt even running on 30 fps all the time.. xD there is some slowdown, which makes NO SENSE, because this is not demanding at all.. xD.
Ps4 IS TRASH
"ye old" is nonsense and should stop being used.
The anachronistic use of "ye olde" dates at least to the late 18th century. The use of the term "ye" to mean "the" derives from Early Modern English, in which 'the' was written þe, employing the Old English letter thorn, þ. During the Tudor period, the scribal abbreviation for þe was ("þͤ" or "þᵉ" with modern symbols); here, the letter ⟨þ⟩ is combined with the letter ⟨e⟩.[1] Because ⟨þ⟩ and ⟨y⟩ look nearly identical in medieval English blackletter (as the ⟨þ⟩ in, compared with the ⟨y⟩ in ye), the two have since been mistakenly substituted for each other. The connection became less obvious after the letter thorn was discontinued in favour of the digraph ⟨th⟩. Today,' ye 'is often incorrectly pronounced as the archaic pronoun of the same spelling.
Can you even say another word other than "From the ground up"? It is seriously getting repetitive.
I just want a digital foundry episode for every video game in existence – is that too much to wish for?
What's up with those terms and condition before playing this game. When is this game online? Does it have leaderboards or something?
60fps wpuld have popped more. 60fps is mpre next gen than native 4k. At least in this generation.
As for Nsane trilogy I still prefer the original games colder colors.
Aside from using Gouraud shading only on distant polygons, the original games used two or three LODs of MIP-mapping on many textures. That was pretty ahead of its time (of course the LOD was selected in software since there was no hardware MIP-mapping on the PlayStation). The games also rendered at 512×240 (512×256 in the PAL version) where most PlayStation games were 320×240, so Spyro looked much cleaner than many other PlayStation games. Insomniac really pushed the PlayStation to its limits.
Add to that planar reflections giving awesome super-shiny ice in Colossus on the original PlayStation. In Spyro Reignited the ice is not very shiny at all, which might be an artistic decision or a technical one. Spyro Reignited makes heavy use of screen space reflections, but that wouldn't be able to reflect Spyro with correct perspective and reveal too much clipping if raising the camera if the reflections were sharp, in addition to other problems with SSR. While it's possible to use a blend of SSR, planar reflections, and cube maps to suit different needs, they didn't. The super shiny ice in Colossus is no more.
On the plus side, the SSR lets Spyro reflect off the golden arches in Lofty Castle which is gorgeous.
Edit: I noticed that the metal urns combine cube mapping with SSR to allow for Spyro to reflect when he gets close, as well as let the urns reflect the surroundings quite convincingly.
The original trilogy is technically more impressive for its time than Spyro Reignited, even though the latter does look awesome for the most part.
11:40 “… no visible difference …” Really? On XBox One X the self shadows on his body and his skin /scales in general are clearly darker. On PS4 Pro is much less self shadowing visible, a much lighter purple and you lose detail on his horns because of the brightness of them. Just look at his right horn (our left). XBox One X = self shadow PS4 Pro = NO shadow; Unless they have implemented some kind of time of day feature for the new trilogy or your capturing device is introducing those differences, your statement is wrong. There have been a few moments in some past videos of DF (other channels on YT too) where the editor is claiming that the visual output is identical when it is clearly not (like in this case). Please comment this or point those differences out in your videos. That’s why we watch them or not? Not telling us would undermine your credibility regarding picture quality in future titles.
Toys for BOB is such a dumb dev name but their work here is exceptional. On par with Bluepoint’s ports. I never liked the original but I might give it another chance with the remake.

The motion blur makes me sick and you cant turn it off
Will they patch it? Or is this going to be abandoned considering they apparently shoved it out the door without a care.
Great video! As much as I love Spyro, I can't turn a blind eye to this game's issues.
i'm not buying this until they have an option to turn off the motionblur
Playing this feels terrible. The motion blur, 30fps and frametime issues make it feel like it runs at 20 fps.
Put all the games on 1 disc or I'm not buying…. and I'm not even a collector, I'm all digital now, but they should have respect for those who do collect…
Who the hell cares about frames and picture anymore this isn't the 90s, every new game looks shiny as fuck, as long as it's fun that's all I care about.
