Ok I know this video is about a year old but this game was my childhood. I would beat rue’s story several times mostly because I liked his ability to transform into other enemies. I vaguely remember mints story mostly because I didn’t mind her magic ability but her story was funny. The music in this game was amazing especially for the fact that it was for the first PlayStation. There were some parts in the game like fancy Mel’s platforming levels that i hated especially because it was a bit finicky. The other problem would have to be how text heavy the game was…but that’s mostly because I was a 3 year old and didn’t like to read. Still I love this game and will never forget it. I am actually considering getting a PlayStation 4 to get this game off the PlayStation network.
ima go through and like all your vids
i love this channel so much should have way more subs
One of my favorite games of all time. (so much so I cosplayed as mint a couple of times.) Its nice to see this game get some well deserved praise.
Good review but this game seems a little too shallow.
nice! I'm so glad i found a channel that talks about all those old underrated games i loved back in the day! subbed!
Just completed Rue's story.
Okay, I have a question. So whenever I play Mint the game suddenly crashes and sends me to the very beginning after I finish the battle with the dragon….I mean I thought I did something wrong but it happens every single time after i complete that battle…..Is it only me? Why does it happen?
Just found this game and played it for 1h … 30 min of both characters and … your right … its a streamlined RPG that had so many cuts… it became a Platformer instead… with a good story and cutscenes that just made me want to see more …simply put, it was like watching a good anime … Rue story had a more serious tone … and his transform abilities where a nice addition … when you played him, the game was designed to be more a challenge for your brain with good puzzels … Mint story , on the other had was full on Kawaii comedy… with good pacing … and her magic abilities made her easy to play with (it felt sometimes like she had a gun in her hand , lulz)
The only killing factor for this game is its length… you can finish the whole game in 6h … you need 3h per each character, ouch … overall i can say , if you like anime get it … its a one sitting / 2 sittings game
A great game, thanks for the review. World domination baby!
What's the second game in the intro part?
Great reviews.
You don't visit ALL the same locations with both characters–the Ghost Temple is exclusive to Rue, and Gamul Forest is exclusive to Mint. That said, I do wish there were a little more variation between the characters' settings. Also, it makes sense that they referred to the relic generically since more than one relic exists (Maya's Book of Cosmos is another, for instance), and Rue and Mint don't even learn Valen's relic is called the Dewprism until they get to the Tower of Maya rather late in the game. When they set out, they were just looking for "any old" relic.
Hey High Level Reviews. You have to consider that this was created back in 2000 back when the market was NOT YET Supersaturated with Anime. These days the whole story of Threads of Fate is like a single arc of any Shounen Anime out there.
I remember playing this on a PSM (Playstation magazine) DEMO Disc and fell in love with it. Only I could never find it anywhere >__< great game either way through. Thank you for showing it some much deserved attention.
Hey, thats was really good bro! Keep up the great work ^__^
Great review man keep it up
we probably played the same games growing up. I mean this,P.E. , even xenogears (i ordered the ntsc version since there is not a pal version). thanks for the reviews.
kindly make a review about suikoden V or suikoden II <3 . i really like games with many recruitable characters . thank you 🙂
good review man. you have given me a new perspective on this game .ill probably pick this up at some point
this game used to kick my ass in elementary, lol i don't really remember the story, but I do remember the twist with Rue
I played this game ant it was awesome! Great review BTW you really caught most of the game aspects without giving almost any spoiler..
Reviews like this are 100% the reason I love this channel. I never even heard of this game and now I want to beat it ASAP! 😀
Nice review!!! keep it up 👍👍👍
Great review! 🙂 Threads of Fate is a game that I feel is sadly overlooked, compared to the rest of Square's impressive RPG library. I felt like this was a very fun game and that the lighthearted story matched with the tone, in particular with Mint's story as you said. I did enjoy playing through Mint's side of the game more than Rue's, but Rue's part wasn't bad. Mint's character was just too much fun! 😛 Great video!
Great review, added you on my subscription list. One question though, is it me or you have a slight Texan accent?
