Very cool – especially the outcome – Hoo Hoo Hoosiers! Too bad DK does not have a rating for the 74-75 Hoosiers. Coach Knight and many others believe this was the better team – Beat Kentucky by 20 in December but lost to them in the tournament after losing Scott May for the season in a late season game against Purdue (damned Boilermakers). I have asked Dave to rate the 74-75 team but so far no luck.
Your box score reminds me of something I find annoying about cross era games – most stat based game engines are purely driven by statistics. This becomes problematic with a team like Indiana 75-76. The three point line did not exist then so, even though they had one of the greatest shooters in college history, Scott May, neither he nor any other player on the team even attempts a three point shot. If it were possible to bring these two teams together in their prime that is not what would happen. I wish some programmer/developer would find a way to apply some sort of interpolation application to the historical statistics to code these older teams with some sort of 3 point capability.
Good luck with your tournament – and remember – NO zone for this IU team!
Great game! Was hoping Rice could have got a 3 off there at the end though.
