How does this compare to the PC version. Are the graphics better on the PSX?
I bought a ps1 and this game a few months ago and replayed it and i can control it with my analog sticks…
I can't stand that it takes 6 shotgun rounds to drop a xenomorph. Kind of excessive.
This game was pretty obscure and frustrating as a child! Kind of sad that they don't make games like this anymore ) This reminds me of the Lifeforce Tenka PSX game.
1:50 Alien Trilogy has a misnomer for a title. It's not recreating each movie one to one, it's taking elements from all of them and creating a game out of them. Ripley is a mixture of her appearance from Alien 3 (Green pants and bald head) and Aliens (the ammo strap and white shirt she wears at the end.). The intent is to recreate the look and feel of the franchise as a whole, which I think it does pretty spectacularly.
this looks shit
Worst game EVA
I bought a copy this game a few months ago and really enjoyed playing it. But when I started to play today, it won't let me play the the game and I'm freezes on the language selection. Does anyone know how solve this problem?
Played the demo on PC back in the day. I found it to be awesome ๐
I just remember this game being very hard…. And very good. LOL
This is probably the best game that Probe ever developed.
Your closing statement really encapsulates what has been done to White culture.
This game is my youth!๐ Now I understand why I couldn't get around the story as a kid… There is none, just a spicy soup of all the movies. ๐
I agree with your conclusions.
Games on the PS were made by GAMERS. Not corporate profiteers.
You couldn't be more wrong with your fairytale shpeil @ 7:33. It has a nice little feel-good tone to it, but it's far from accurate.
beat this game all those years ago ๐
Better than Colonial Marines.
are you ever going to look at alien ressurection game??
Please review Alien Resurrection !
i had this on sega saturn
Saturn version was also fun.
Just got this thing on Dosbox for review. Have had a hack at the first level, didn't advance much, so yeah okay for those of us who don't actually play games that much ๐ Any advice on actually advancing, think I may need to shot up some of the crates? Definitely need to find more shotgun ammo.
Trying to remember another Alien game I played quite some time ago, was also a first person shooter with similar graphics?
Try using the logitech wireless ps2 controller to play this game, the d pad is so much nicer on your fingers! My thumb was always hurting using the standard controller.
Will you ever do a review on Aliens: The Ultimate Doom, which is a total conversion for the Doom engine as a mod. It is very faithful to the original and I feel like you will have a lot of nostalgia playing it.
iirc I played this but I had the Saturn version, which you could use the memory cartridge to save your game. Still have the disc actually but my Saturn went to shit last year and the eye stopped reading disks
The Saturn version has a save function and a more comfy d-pad for what that's worth.
Re controls, I can honestly say I've never liked any of the PlayStation controllers.
Your an idiot playstation 1 controller back then is not yet as good as now it has no vibration no joystick its just d pad try playing this game back in 1996 where game are still in 128 bit processor . you would know the difference so stop comparing this game from now where games are very high tech i played this game in 1996 wherei am just a kid and this is the best game i ever play in playstation 1 or sega saturn
Looks like a doom mod.
Man, your reviews are great. They consistently have me watching reviews that are years old and about games I really don't even give a shit about lol. Yet, here I am and I'm always interested. Keep it up.
Huh. Visually the game's kinda looks like a mix of the DOOM and Build Engine.
I loved the hell out of this game when I was a kid (Sega Saturn edition). Unfortunately, it's also the only game that's ever given me motion sickness. WORTH IT though
Is there a fan made port on pc like what they did with doom 64?
great review now you should review the 4th film game alien resurrection
Alien Trilogy is very very easy, I don't know why people think it's hard. Doom is harder.
I'm just curious i know this was a review for the PSX version but did you ever play the PC one? And if you did, what did you think differently of the 2 versions?
This game has a pretty good soundtrack, it's quite atmospheric and really has that alien feel to it. It was an ok game for the time, the controls are very old school. I recently got the ps1 version, back in the day I played to dos version which was controlled using the arrow keys. In those days they did not use WSAD keys yet. Both the playstation and pc version use cd-audio, I would occasionally put the pc cd rom version in my audio cd player to listen to the tracks.
You'd be surprised how harmful harsh language is to some people
Great game! But it was extremely hard!
lol you wanna talk about sore digits?
play big foot for the nes. that shit gave me thumbs i can fight with…..
Remember that pinkacidboots-thing?๐
isnt there another alien game on the playstation that was the first fps on a console to use modern controls

Looks like Duke Nukem 3D
Sad thing is dual analog wasnโt available.
Alien Trilogy was superior to AvP on Jaguar.

That control scheme was common for the time
