Bof 3 is the only game worth playing from the whole series . Great rpg.
This was one of my favourite PS1 games back in the day!
It's my childhood. The only rpg game i love. I can't even count how many times I cleared this masterpiece =)
I loved this game so much
Bof III was easiest the best PSOne title
This was the game that got me into RPG's. It's such a fun and epic game.
Man! Just finished this game today…completely loved it! the art style is top-notch sprite based, it's beatiful, I really liked…although the ending felt a bit…lackluster imo, nevertheless, this game is a must play for RPG fans
Love your work! This is going to my entry into the series thanks to your conviction! 🙂
Breath of Fire III is beyond a masterpiece, the game play, dragon gene system, music and story line are awesome! This and Earth Bound are the reason why I play RPGs
I never realized the Goo King Sword was difficult to obtain because I got it right away.
Never played a BoF game before, but this one looks exceptionally promising (those graphics look phenomenal!), and I wish I had a PS1 or some other console to play this on. Really sucks that PS4 has no PS1 games, and I don't have the money for a vita or anything else.
Here's hoping I can somehow find a way to play this or other PS1 & old console games before I'm dead.
I was going for an old sprite based RPG, this made me decide Bof3 over Bof4
how long does it take to beat?
I adore this game very much.My childhood is left there along with Alundra.
Dude sounds almost exactly like the hippie teacher from Beavis and Butt-Head.
Hey Man. First time watching and I have to say you have the absolute best quality reviews. I recently remembered BOF 1 from playing the GBA port and decided to see where the series went. This review game exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks! I'm subscribed! 🙂
Great review, your review is very thoughtful, objective, and pragmatic. Most other reviewers come across as shallow and juvenile.
Oh the best game I have ever grinded with. Story has my heart forever.
Bro, do you even Saga Frontier, Phantasy Star, or Brave Fencer Musashi?
Why this one isn't in BoF playlist?
Really refreshing to see a reviewer speak in a calm manner without an onslaught of lame jokes & shouting into the camera. Subscribed. Look forward too seeing more videos. Nicely done.
Re BOF3 PSP; If you have the downloadable version, and a PSTV, you can play it on a HDTV, using a PS3 or PS4 gamepad.
PECO! PECO! PECO!
this game doesn't bode well for my ocd, as i put too much into making perfect characters by staying low level till you meet a mster, master swapping, learning enemy skills and duplicating stuff with faeries
also, by the end game, goo kings are easy to beat just gotta slay a ton until you get the blade
I was obsessed with this game as a kid. I was lucky to get more than a few great games but I played this like crazy. I had no idea about Breath of Fire when I got it. I just liked the look of the box and got it as a birthday present. I was like nine or ten or something. Epic. The Capcom jingle still gives me shivers and happy memories. I will play it again someday but I would probably die of nostalgia.
Ah this was my first proper game for the PS1. I smashed a car door because of this game(long story, it was an accident). I never DID manage to beat the ArchMage or Berserker though while I did manage to trounce the final boss…then again I had NO idea what I was doing really even WITH a strategy guide so my characters stats were ALL over the place really. I still love this game though, even if the story overall is VERY melancholy.
Oh no!!! You mentioned the Completionist®… Shit, now you have to pay him….
wow great game i miss it!
:- O My expression literally when i first time saw Rei reappeared after a long absence. He is simply one of the best companions in any rpg , kinda wild but very effective (skill from beginning of a game, used by weak goblin will make from him a killing machine "command: if i remember correctly). Ahh memories ,it was soo good game in any aspect, it's kinda sad that i can't say the same thing about successors, but still i really enjoy my time spent on IV . Anyway, it is and will be my favorite jrpg of all time, behind it is for sure Xenogears. By the way do You have in plan to make someday Xenogears review ?? Great review you earned one more subscriber . Cheers Man.
I had a Goo King Sword!!! It was pretty awesome but it took me HOURS of gameplay to get.
Greatest game!
I just finished re-playing this masterpiece on my PS1 the other day, for the 1st time since 1998. It still more than holds up, and brings back such great memories. This is my favorite in the series, and I enjoyed it so much that it inspired me to play the rest of the BoF games (except Dragon Quarter). On BoF1 now. Then will go right into BoF2, then 4. And yes, DariaPlaysRPGs, it was/is a masterpiece. 🙂
3:00 you got me almost crying. love you derek. and love this game and how you described it 🙂
Ok, i need to subscribe here ! I've only seen one of your video (this one obviously) but i already know it'll be worth. Your video and your calm voice are so nice ! 🙂
I am SO NOSTALGIC for this game!
dude you got dat calming voice.
so glad i got the psp version. kinda funny it looked like it was from the PAL region. which i got the same one as well.
This video is not in your BoF playlist. =P
this game was my Intro to the BoF saga ..i remember it so clearly ..back inthe days of videogame rentals my local movie store had the abilty to rent our PS consoles and that is what me and my brother did ..we rented a PS and BoF3 ..i played the HELL out of BoF3 the artwork for the unique dragons the master System and the special traits of each character On and off the Battle mode was perfect yes it had a lack of characters the other 2 games had but in my eyes Less was more ..i invested more into the characters and found my favorites for each situation
so much memories.I literally cried watching this.especially when I heard the fighting theme.
i just started playing this game again, so much fun. i remember when it first came out, playing at a friends house who rented it i stayed up all night wanting to complete it before he had to return it…. needless to say that didnt happen. i think i got just past mcneil's mansion. went out and bought it the next day. most frustrating part was the desert, spent 8 hours wondering around and finally went out and bought a strategy guide.
i heard you can download it on the playstation store, but apparently you cant play it on the ps4 🙁 so had to dust off the ps2
OMG this game was taking forever to beat I had to quite. I may revisit it someday but with more time on my hands.
