March 10, 2019 1 min read
A number of pre-loaded games aren’t recapturing the memories many of us had of them when we originally played them. Here’s how to fix that. Is PlayStation …

Have a question. Iβm getting one of these soon (iβm going to mod it) and I wanted to know if I were to shut the system down or close the game after doing this, will the change be saved?
There are region patchers for iso files
lol
Ps classic is cool gor EU cause we can now enjoy 60hz games without Adaptor step down transofmer and with stunning HD! Happy with mine! I may buy another i love these grow with it
Im happy with mine i got today morning but ya still ..
Doesnt look any smoother.
This thing has been a complete disaster from the start.
what a mess
60HZ does not equal 60fps!
This is pathetic Sony…..
most people think ntsc is better becouse is more faster but remember pal color is better than ntsc
A shitty emulator on a 100 dollar caseπ€¦π»ββοΈ
Wow IGN i knew your journalists were young but they sound like they are iust out of school! Changing to 60hz does not mean 60fps!
60 Herz does not mean 60 fps, and defenitely not with ps1 games.
Iβll keep playing PS1 games on my PS2/PS3. π
This is totally misleading, the games remain in 50Hz, all you do is change retroarch setting to NTSC, forcing PAL isos to run in false 60Hz.
Sony have released this with hacking in mind, just like the psp. They r trying to undermine nintendo
How is this even normal?
The classic is cool for novelty but you will have a better experience playing on a CRT tv with either a ps1, ps2, or ps3. Preferably with component cables, which you most likely didnt have as a child. Much more vibrant and clear experience.
My PSX back in the day was able to read pirated discs. I remember I also had to use N-PAL converter for NTSC games if not they were in black and white
I wonder if trying one of those ps1/ps2 to usb adapters can work on that. Cause you could try the original dualshock on those games, which could make a better experience.
I dont know how this can actually work. Keep in mind that the games you are playing are the pal versions for most of the times and these games are hardcodes with 50hz in mind. So changing the emulation settings does not change the fact that you are still playing the PAL release of the game…
So it's $180 in total for a fully working PS1 classic lol. Garbage product
So what does this mean?.. People have been given it bad reviews so far is this going to make the reviewers think again?
Whatβs the extra stuff and cheats menus do? has anyone showed it off in the rom settings
This is ridiculous that the option is already on the system, you just can't access it through the stock menus. What garbage.
do the setting save, or do i have to do this every time for every game?
Like I totally understand that the NTSC version of the games should have been the versions used by default on this thing but as someone from Europe I don't like the way most of the gaming press is positioning it as "don't buy this thing because it's not how you remember the games", Europe/Australia is pretty big, this is how a lot of people remember these games running.
If Sony drops the price to $50 we MAY consider buying it…
What? A console that can do better than the "cinematic effect"? π€£π€£π€£
They did not actually try this. You can't change the region, it crashes the system every time. The problem is that the NTSC versions of those games do not exist on the console. So simply changing the region without the file there, accomplishes nothing. Of course, they were more concerned about getting views, than providing accurate information.

Ok it's nice that there's a workaround but we shouldn't have to do this, 60 hz should be by default.
Thank you for the shout out IGN! π
Why is pcsx being used epsxe is the way to go thatβs like if Nintendo made the GameCube classic and didnβt use dolphin
I just wanna play PlayStation 2 online again instead of this crap
Oh i have a solution……don't buy it π Its easier to just get a Raspberry Pi and do it yourself
Great job Sony!
They sure did a sloppy job on this. Haha
I didn't realise there was 60 first person shooters on the system…
60fps for single player games? π not worth it.
