Ill Pass!!! bc sony is a king of evil
Yeah, this is pretty awesome if it works well!
Not sure about the prices, but it opens up to a whole lot of things… and that dongle was definitely made to smooth the experience. I mean, I've been using third party software to connect my Dualshock 4 to the PC for a while now, but I'm not sure if Playstation Now would work well with it… perhaps that's the underlying reason.
Anyways, I've always been saying that if I ever purchase another console, It'd be a Playstation 3. I had a Wii U, played it a whole lot, but the investment on a new console like a PS4 or XBox One just doesn't fit the bill nor justifies itself for me personally.
Weirdly enough, one of the reasons I didn't want neither consoles is because I hate subscription models, but I can accept when there are big advantages to it.
I mostly play with friends, and they are not always available, so the Wii U basically sits there collecting dust for several months 'till everyone has time to gather and play.
Considering this, Playstation Now would pretty much be a perfect fit. I don't have to buy an entire new console, I can test the service before paying for it, and I can cancel my subscription if it's not working out or if friends (or myself) don't have time to play, and I have a pretty good library of games to play.
Not sure if this will translate to PC too, but if I'm not mistaken, there's also the option to rent specific games instead of paying for subscription, is that right? Though the difference in prices doesn't make that much sense… like pay 15 bucks for a month of playing any titles from a library of 400, or paying 5 bucks to play 1 game for a week.
Thinking bigger, what Sony is starting here could be awesome for everyone. Not only it would be competing in a pretty big way with Steam, if the service catches on, the library will probably improve, the service too, other companies might start looking more into this idea, and then a whole lot of people will start vouching for better Internet overall.
