Mike actually made a really good point about the power button and eject button on the PS4, I fuckn hate them as well..
I was 15 in 1995 and only had a game boy but wasn't mad into video games but the playstation commercials looked amazing and the games looked fun so I got it for Christmas 1995 and have owned every playstation console my favourite would be the PS4 I still remember the opening sound from ps1 and it really was like a new planet
You guys were so spot on with this video! I remember that when I heard the newest Final Fantasy game would be on the Playstation, that's when I decided to buy one.
This console saved our childhood from being confined to playing Super Mario most of our lives… Thank you Play Station!
I'm not a PlayStation fan, but admit that PS seems like the bridge to today. The problem is they never had a platform game that got people to buy like Xbox, n64, or Genesis.
when is the playstation 5 out?
I still have a ton of PS1 games, and they were so much fun, but the SNES just moved. Loading times and save times sometimes killed the PS experience for me. I agree with Mike about the polygons on the PS1, but games like FFVII made them look more like cell shaded games.
"That is a button!"
you do know n64 has memory cards? wow!
Please do talk about games the original xbox
Resident Evil Metal gear Street fighter alpha 3 Mortal Kombat trilogy Apocalypse with Bruce Willis Twisted Metal Crash Bandicoot. Final Fantasy 7
The modchip i used just went into the I/O port on the back and had no risk to damage the system. I recall having binders of games though!
no
I cannot BELIEVE no one talked about Pax Corpus, the greatest game of all the playstation gallery!! 🙂
Hey man no offense taken but Crash 1-3 is as good as any mario game.
ur lying , playstation doesnt have a million games….but i love ps more than n64
Playstation 1 is my favorite retro console of all time!
Is it weird that I'm a Nintendo fan but I have a ps1 ?maybe it's because I like old consoles (I'm 11)
i love everything about the PS1. trying not to get butthurt over some of your criticisms lmao
The n64 looked mostly worse than psx with terrible fps and low resolution. Seriously how far up nintendo's ass are you guys?
mischief makers
Guys….Embrace this video, this the only time you will see mike actually saying that there is a console better than a nintendo console
I love Mike and Ryan, and while they know a lot, many times it seems like they don't know much. At the very end Ryan asks to name one 2d N64 game, um hello, Mischeif Makers? Bangai-O?? Those were some of the few real awesome ones. I'm sure there were more Japanese 2d games, but I don't understand how limited their games knowledge is sometimes.
Shout out to people who did the swap technique for imports or burned games!
No
I thought the PlayStation was supposed to be the super Nintendo CD and Sony just said we don't need Nintendo lets do it
hey man 😉
Intelligent Qube shout out? In my internet?!
There where only two Final Fantasy rpgs on playstation Final Fantasy 7 & Final Fantasy 8. Then the skipped to 10 for PlayStation 2. burns every copy of Final Fantasy 9 in existence to forget that garbage.
no
There are two kinds of people, my friend: those who went from the SNES to the N64, and those who went to the PS.
One of the keys to Sony's success was going CD instead of cartridge. Since CD is cheaper and has more space.
I would disagree with two statements from video. PS1 plarfomers did not hold well comparing to N64 platformers? Spyro, Crash, Gex, Rayman? Crash just recently become smash hit again with three original games which got HD treatment but with almost the same game mechanics and levels. And it still holds great. And second thing about FPS. Ok, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were impressive. But I don't think that Quake 2, Medal of Honor or Alien Resurrection are really that bad comparing to those
In retrospect, PS1 was better than N64. I was a Nintendo fanboy until PS1. Games that won me over: FFXII, SoTN, Ridge Racer2, Twisted Metal, Tekken2, THPS2 (which when compared to N64 was 💯 times better), Resident Evil & GTA2. Loved the 4 player N64 games but definitely made the wrong choice when I got one. Went to Ps2 after that.
I know Ryan has a lot if love for RPGs and I was really hoping for a Star Ocean 2 name drop. My favorite GOAT RPG ever created. I'd love to know he and Mike's thoughts on it. SO2 was so deep in every way. Music, Battle/Skill/Customization Engines, GREAT Story. I could go on and on but if you guys read this (as well as my fellow commenters) is love to hear opinions!
I was a die-hard Nintendo fanboy back in the day, I completely ignored the 32-bit generation waiting for the N64, until I saw the previews for FFVII. I actually bought a copy of that right after it came out, before I had the system, even thought I'd never played a Final Fantasy, because I wanted to make sure I got it. The marketing was that good.
Treasure made a 2D game for the N64, Mischief Makers.
guess you never had a mod chip.
How come you never mentioned Donkey Kong 64 and Jet Force Gemini? They were two of the best games on the console
2D games on N64: Mischief Makers. One of the best platformers of the time, i got it for christmas and never ever saw anyone with another copy of it back then, so it probably wasn't very popular, but it was really good.
i was a nintendo kid as well, but man was i jealous as fuck when my cousin got resident evil 2 and metal gear solid.
Einhander anyone?! One of the greatest games ive ever played, n i mean that.
