It’s my birthday! But who cares, here’s 10 Action Indie Games that are on sale that you may want to take a look at. From a homicidal rabbit with aspirations in …

It would be cool to have a "value time" and "value money" enhancer/dehancer on most/all of your reviews. So if a game is overpriced, rather than putting that in the objective review score, it would affect people who value money more (or are more burdened with non-video game life expenses) more negatively than those who don't. Alternatively, if a game has a lot of value overall but is burdened by a disproportionate amount of time wasters like fetch quests or forced grinding, it would affect people who value their time more negatively than people who don't mind spending time on boring in-game tasks if the ultimate payoff of finishing the game is high. One or both of these would be enhancers rather than dehancers if the game was underpriced and/or if the game has most less filler than average, such as a game that is short but packs a big artistic punch. I recently played a one-hour metroidvania-like game in Retro Game Crunch called "Super Clew Land" that was super creative and had no filler. As someone who values time, I might want to add a few points to an objective review score for the game over someone who has more time to kill and wouldn't mind a little more filler. Since not everyone of your subscribers is in the same financial position or has the same amount of time to play videogames, it doesn't make as much sense to only count the game's price in the objective review score.
By suggesting this I am not saying I think you should change what the tens digit of the score means in terms of purchasing, since you are still ultimately giving subscribers advice on whether a game is a "must buy" or a niche buy or somewhere in between. But if I were a millionaire with lots of other hobbies and responsibilities besides video games, I would care comparatively less about the game's price in deciding if it is a "must buy" than if I was on a very tight budget. I would be more concerned if I had time to play the game- and if each minute spent playing a particular game was of high-quality. That doesn't necessarily mean the game would have to be short. Hollow Knight is one of the longest metroidvanias I've ever played (in contrast to Super Clew Land which is the shortest), but both provide equal value for each moment spent. Hollow Knight simply has more overall valuable content to roll out than Super Clew Land, commiserate with its greater length. But if you took Super Clew Land and drew it out to the length of Hollow Knight by adding an overly long, poorly designed mid-game fetch quest (SCL actually has a fetch quest but it is designed very well, is short and creative, and is challenging and fun to complete), I would probably pass on it if I cared a lot about my time. If I didn't, playing the game might still be worth it because the payoff is so entertaining.
BTW, Retro Game Crunch with SCL is less than a dollar right now on the Humble Bundle Store for its fall sale, so it is more than worth giving a try!
very informational ๐ (i know i watch this too late, but the review of the game is still valid)
2 hours for just the 1st check point?!? That's hard.
I recommend you ask users to turn off their adblock on your videos.
Hello. Can we convince you to give our new 2D action rpg -Chicken Assassin a try? We can give you steam game key ๐
nice and very useful overview – there are so many indie games now and not enough information on what is worth picking
keep it up dude great channel!
Great video keep it up!
I bought Victor Vran myself when it went on sale. Other games I would recommend in action genre in the sale would be Van Helsing 75% and Lovers in a Dangerous Time, Dishonered 50% off, Batman Arkham City 75% off and Torchlight 2 80% off.
Thanks for the tips.
Wait, wait, what you're saying is that it's the developers themselves that set the sale's discount ? Not the Steam office scumbags ? Is that a fact ?
Volgarr is a game I keep coming back to… glad to see it on the list!
Some of those looks great. There's also a mega man successor called 20XX on sale and from what I played, the controls and level design seem pretty tight.
Is there gonna be RTS/strategy list?
Happy birthday! And this was a really helpful list, I was looking for some good indie games. Definitely going to look into Dark Maus and Ghost 2.0. Thanks!
