#1 NHL Hitz 2003 (Xbox) #2 Mutant League Football & Hockey #3 Test Drive Eve of Destruction (Xbox)
The best way to earn money in Baseball Stars is to play teams with high Prestige.
I'd say that the Blitz series is a spiritual successor to High Impact and Super High Impact Football. 🙂
Btw, you've heard of Wii Punch Out!!, haven't you?
loved bad news baseball as a kid, still think MVP 05 is better than The Show but unless I wanna play rbi there is no other option.
Punch Out on NES, Death Rally on DOS, and Road Rash 2 on Sega Genesis. I mean, I guess racing games count as sports? If not, then I'll swap out for World Cup Soccer on NES. and that's about it as I don't play many Sports games haha. But you knew that. Dude, that picture of John Madden was horrifying.
I was also surprised by Punch Out's snub on Brasel's video. Maybe everyone assumed someone would have picked it? I should have submitted for that video! I saw he got overwhelmed with people, so I stepped away thinking he had more than enough. Then so many people dropped out. Bummer.
Glad to see all the goofballs listed in the first segment from MT and GR! Great video as always man. Keep it up!!!
Wes, you own a Switch, or a new age console? I own a Switch, and RBI Baseball was released for it. It is such a bad game though. I only bought it in the hopes it resembled a new take on a game I played as a kid on the NES. The NES version is better, literally. I don't buy sports games often either, but in the hopes of a retro flashback, I spent $30 bucks. $10 dollars more than on PS4 or Xbox One. What a waste. Worst purchase I've made since Dead Space 3, and I only spent like $10 for that piece of shit.
WOO I made the team! Blitz honestly looks fantastic. Is there a particular version you'd recommend for a noob? Hmm..I really am not sure of my favorites…I'll have to think about it.
"Dude shouldn't even be allowed outside."
Slick subtle albino joke. Two points for the home team.
Punch Out for the win!! As I'm a Swede I know nothing about American Football. It doesn't seem fun at all to watch. But these Blitz games look fun tho! Which one should I start out with?
Saw you on Back In The Day Gamer's channel. Dropped in to check u out & sub. I did my top 5 sports games video awhile back in a tag response. I posted the link below if you would like to check it out. Im also stoked for NFL this year!
Yea I loved punch-out, one of my favorites. I also remember playing tons of tecmo bowl. One weekend, back in the day, me and a couple of my buddies decided to go through an entire season, non stop. We got to week 16 and my buddy got up to relieve himself and I don't know what happened but he stumbled into the NES and jarred the game and deleted our entire season. Friendships were a little frayed at the time. LOL, looking back though I remember the fun and trash talking we had playing those games. Another reason why I love your channel Wes, aside from it making me realize how damn old I am, it's the nostalgia and good times I had with my friends when I was young and stupid. Keep it up!
Fuck yeah, awesome list Wes! Stupid YT getting rid of video responses. If I get the time I'll add in a response. Punch Out is such a classic game, it topped my own best NES sports game list. If we're adding all other consoles…hmm, could get interesting. I would also like it if you would take over the TOP 3 moniker. Although, that would be a big undertaking.
Nice video! Speaking of which, is anyone here familiar with the baseball games Baseball Simulator 1.000, Base Wars, and Dusty Diamond's All Star-Softball? I talked about it with Wes, but I never seem to hear those talked about despite those being some of the more unique baseball games on the system.
I liked Bad News Baseball. Pink rabbits as umpires.
Nice vid, i miss the top 3 Tues, I'll try to make a response vid if I have time (fingers crossed), I'll have to leave out punch out cause that's too obvious since it's one of the greatest games evar! lol
Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 (SNES), NBA Jam T.E. (Genesis), NHLPA 93 (Genesis) were all games I used to play all the time. Since nowadays I don't play many sports games.
Love this topic! Idk if I'll have time to make a response video this week but I'm going to try.
3 of my favourite sports games are: Track & Field II NES – I enjoyed the range of challenging events, you'd need to practice a loads and it was fun trying to beat a friends records. WWE Smackdown Series PS1/2 – When your friends are all hardcore wrestling fans there wasn't a better game to play for a fast paced 4-player arse kicking contest. Pro Evolution Soccer PS1/2 – Similar to the NFL season kicking off, the same thing happens here in UK with Football premiership, everybody buys the latest FIFA or Pro Evo game and has many heated matches over a few beers. I always preferred Konami's Pro Evo with its advanced ball physics and greater challenge in scoring.
For me
1: Super Baseball 2020 – Fun and fast paced arcade action 2: Super High Impact – Pre-curser to Blitz but it's a great High energy game that blends Tecmo Bowl and Blitz rather well 3: Boxing Legends of the Ring – A surprisingly good boxing game favouring arcade style gameplay.
Mine would be . 1. Super Tecmo Bowl 3 the Final Edition. My friend and i still play through a season of this game once a year and have tons of sides bets that we pay off at the end. Great times. .2 Mike Tyson's Punch Out. One of the first games i rented for the NES and still one of my favorites. 3. Superspike V'Ball Absolutely love this game! Theres just something about power spiking people off of the screen that feels great.
Honorable mentions
Baseball Stars Formula 1 Built to Win Super Dodgeball Hot Shots Golf series NBA Jam
I love football too. Big black bucks wrap their arms around other men and then get up and shake their asses. Fawk yea, Chippa. Tickle Tickle Tickle my tonsils lol
U were wrong about 1 thing, the only Punch Out that anyone should ever play is Mike Tyson's lol. Nice choices! My response vid will be 66% the same as yours. The Old Ass Retro Gamer announced last week that he plans to start doing weekly T3Ts so I thought at first that you were responding to his. We are wrapping up the SNES episodes of WRC and are moving on to Genesis. Any interest in hosting 1 in the next month? We are choosing games and I was thinking Phelios would b a fun run (but there are tons of good options). Then I thought guest appearance from Wes…
Punchout!, NBA Jam (SNES) and International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, that's my top 3 in sports.
Thanks for the vid bruh! Mine are RBI Baseball (I used to play the shit out of that game as a kid), NFL 2K, and Mike Tyson's Punchout.
Lol i would do a response but our lists wouod be exactly the same minus mutant league hockey for punch out. And I don't even consider punch out a sports game lol
What can I say I've always been good st baseball stars. Plus you named me the guy thats usually the power hitter I think. Oh man that joke made my day lol
