3D Platformers are seeing a revitalization in 2015. Many of these games were strongly inspired by old school platformers like Banjo Kazooie and Jak and Daxter …

I do miss the old Crash Bandicoot series:( It's sad to see that Nuaghty Dog has gond down the road of Zombie apocalypse with The Last of us which is a well made game it's just not Naughty dog to me:(
All of these games are done by fans by the sounds of it, and they done well.
But as far as comparing them too the likes of Banjo Kazooie or Ratchet and Clank…"HALF BAKED" would be an understatement… SAD too watch… They done away with these games and the same with games like Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I'm playing the closest thing too it since 1997.."ROGUE LEGACY". Again, a lovely game, considering it was done by one guy… But half baked is an understatement compared too the big budget game Castlevania SOTN 1997…"SAD" too watch… Most games on steam are crappy indie 2d games or just plain crap "PICK UP AND PLAY FOR 5" type games… Unless you got a PC that can Handle DOOM 2016…Final Fantasy 15…or something like those two. 🙁
Good video that I'm glad I've found even if a year late. Though, I prefer the 2000's platformers, like jak and daxter, rather than these 90's platformers
Back with ps2 and N64 3d platformer was the most popular genre with small developers doing their first games as 3d platformers and every single new Disney, pixar or big animated movie were made into a 3d platformer. Why did it go away? There is a demand and Rayman 4 is as demanded as Half Life Episode 3. Come on it's a big cash grab so why don't they do it? Just have the main mind behind Rayman 3 and Beyond Good and Evil but full time on Rayman this time. Combine the Hoodlums and robot pirates for amazing awesomeness
Yes we need more platformers tired of shooting games
Clive and wrench? Sounds a little like Ratchet and Clank
This was when games was fun, not political, not buggy, no shitty over-priced dlc, no massive download/patches required because games actually worked how they should have on release, no going by pre-order numbers to see how much they should actually do for the game, no false gameplay, trailers, and promises, WERE FUN!!
People say that the only reason people want platformers back again or platformers at all is nostalgia reason.. well yes but no.. platformers are wanted so badly on a mass scale again, because they was fucking GOOD!
Funny thing is, the companies that got big and successful was because of their old games Crash Spyro Mario Sonic Rayman Banjo Toy Story 2 Sheep Raider and many more.
Notice how they have shit on their games and their original fan base.
im so glad 3D platformers are coming back! can't wait for a Hat in time and Yooka-Laylee!

Wow A Hat In Time has a feature from Rayman/Ty The Tasmanian Tiger if you look at 4:06 you'll see what I mean P.S. 3D Platformers are back wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaa hhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooo
is legends of kay a good game? is it worth to buy it?
I know why AAA devs refuse to make 3d platformers. They would prefer to have a return than make a product, that is why you keep seeing a call of duty and Assassins creed every year, along with a new Skylanders, which is mundane when it comes to kids games. I want to make a 3d platformer, and I will eventually. I looked at the platformers of old, and realize what made them so great.
Kay's graphics kinda remind me of a PS2 game… and not in a good way… sorry Kay
People claim they're sick of First/Third Person Shooters and that they want 3D platformers to return, says Mario and Sonic should die.
