So excited for VR. Love it.
If you play around with the settings a bit you can get the framerate pretty much flawless, I can play Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros and even Super Mario 64 on Virtual Console running pretty much at 75fps all the time, I have the emulator running in Direct3D Mode instead of OpenGL and the Oculus running in Direct Mode which helps with latency even though the program warns you that it isn't stable in Direct Mode.
Give Super Smash Bros or even Mario Kart Wii a try and im sure you will be impressed, before you start the games though you can right click on the game in the games list and click Properties and you will find some patches you can apply to help with emulation, Also in Graphics Settings in the 'Hacks' submenu where it says 'EFB Copies' make sure 'Disable' and 'Remove Blank EFB Copy Box' is ticked, if you have problems with HUD's and 2D screens not being the right size you can customise that while playing by going to the VR Settings and going into the 'VR Game' submenu and changing some of the numbers.
DolphinVR I find to be very understated in terms of VR experiences, when set up right it can be an amazing experience that runs pretty much flawlessly
PS. I find setting the Frame Limiter to 75fps (Rift Refresh) will give you a clean experience with minimul judder but it will speed the game up as well as the games audio, I tend to play it like this as I don't mind but if you prefer to play at real speed then just go to VR Settings and tick 'Pullup 60fps to 75fps'
Fifa would be awesome in first person view..Just like being on the field..
Is it nauseating to have the camera move around by itself when you're playing?
I cannot wait for VR sports. Ping-pong, basketball, baseball home-run derbies, .etc.
It's really going to allow people to play sports in the home using a lot of body motion that the real-life sports do. As exercise it's going to be a great gateway drug to getting people more fit.
