5. DMC redefined hack and slash so all that isometric shit doesn't belong on the list. Hell, even Hyper Light Drifter is a better Hack and Slash than most of the games on this list.

13. Could someone please tell me why is a game like Diablo a Hack'n Slash? When I think in a HnS there comes to my mind games like God of War, MGRRevengeance, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry… because they use to be about destroying controllers by killing thousands of enemies, but Diablo like games are more about clicking and waiting (i guess). I'm a bit troubled…

17. I played Hellbreed almost six years ago , yeah the graphics are pretty bad but the feel of that game was so awesome , the damage system the weapons and the grinding were perfect , such a good game I felt so bad when they trashed it out.

19. The moment i saw Diablo 2, i was wondering if i've been mistaken about definition of hack'n'slash genre all those years. And it apparently gets worse when i look at the comments section. Not a bad summary of featured games though.

21. Just saying, if DMC meet Bayonetta somehow maybe Dante or Virgil or Neo(forgot his name) they fight each other because their enemies trick them but at the end they realize it was wrong and they decide to working each other then you as one of them and then fight the big boss together. 😀

28. DmC higher in the list than DMC 4? Are you fucking retarded? DmC, leaving aside the ridiculous story and horrible attempt at a reboot, is a pretty good game, with a solid combat system, but no way in hell is it better than DMC 4's battle engine, get your head straight. Talking in terms of pure hack and slash, DMC 4 took the meaning to a whole new level. Not talking about the story, but atleast in terms of hack and Slash gameplay, DMC 4 takes the cake.

    And Berseria is an amazing game, its great, but for all that it is, its NOT a hack and slash. Its pure action oriented J-RPG, and a fucking amazing one at that. My favorite Tales of MC used to be Yuri and Llyoid, but Velvet? She blew me away, her character did.

35. Ninja Gaiden 2, God of War 2, Devil May Cry 3, Killer Is Dead, Onimusha 3. You have just missed best games of Hack n Slash genre for Grim Dawn or DMC 4? No offense but those game were trash. But I agree with Bayonetta and Diablo 2.
